Today is Veterens Day. Given some of the military operations of the last 12 years or so, it can sometimes be hard to appreciate soldiers like we should. Some even take the “Universal Soldier” line and hold them just as accountable for unjust wars and occupations as our political leaders.
The thing to remember though is that on occasion evil men DO arise and need to be dealt with by soldiers. Standing armies can be abused by those in power, but they are still needed. The fact that they might be called upon to fight in a war or operation that they themselves do not believe in is just one of the many sacrifices that soldiers make when they put themselves, and their own families aside to work on behalf of a larger cause.
So thank you Veteran’s and Soldiers for doing what you do.
So I pray today for the Soldiers.
May the most Holy IAO shine his limitless light upon you.
May his Archangel METATRON make clear your path through the most HOLY LIVING CREATURES
May RATZIEL conduct you carefully through the WHEELS of the Chariot
May TZAPHKIEL watch over you from the appointed THRONES
May TSADKIEL care for you through the BENIGNLY BRIGHT ONES
May KHAMMAEL cleanse corruption through the BURNING ONES
May MICHAEL keep you balanced through the MIGHTY MESSENGERS
May AURIEL encourage you through the TRUE IMMORTALS
May RAPHAEL instruct you through the CHILDREN OF GOD
May GABRIEL enliven you through the STRONG ONES
May SANDALPHON enable you to perform your duties through SOULS OF FIRE
In the name of the Wisdom
and the Love
and the Justice
of the one Eternal Spirit
AMEN
“LIKE”
Amen! Well said!
Amen.

@Ngawang, I disagree with many if not most of the US politics and policies, but I love my country, even more after visiting so many other ones. I disagreed with the War in Iraq, based on experience because I was there. We weren’t murdering people, we were trying to save people and just trying to stay alive while we did. We who serve don’t get to choose when, where or how we serve. If you can’t stand behind the US troops, I invite YOU to stand in front of them.
Stand behind them in terms of hoping they survive, or stand behind them in terms of supporting an institution that is directly involved in converting this country from a relatively free republic into a military empire that will eventually go the way of Rome?
Shutting this conversation down now. No further posts will be approved.
Ngawang you made your point. Joe and I both disagree with you. The whole point is that it is possible to support the troops while not supporting their specific missions. When soldiers deploy on missions that that they themselves do not support, this is part of their sacrifice.
