Merry Christmas Eve and Yuletide.

So tonight is Christmas eve. This year at the Miller household we had family over today, so that tomorrow we can focus on the kids. The morning will bring the fulfillment of Christmas, both in terms of toys and gifts for kids, and in terms of the birth of Christ for those that celebrate such things. Right now though, is my favorite time.

The family has just left, and the kids are getting ready for bed. Soon a silence will fall in the house, but also all over the neighborhood. Whether you celebrate it or not, this silence is a psychic experience worthy of meditation. It is a silence that is pregnant with possibility. The morning will burst forth with manifestation, but for now, it is all still potential.

We just had a new moon. Solstice just passed. Christmas is tomorrow. New Years will follow. The Perihelion 3 days after that and the Epiphany (12th night) three days after that. This is a magical time of the year for new actions and new beginnings. But tonight, just take a moment and be silent.  Slip outside tonight. Sip your port and close your eyes, and let whatever visions of sugarplums dance in your head take sway. Drink in the stillness and possibility and let the it lay its blessing upon you.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight.
