    hello jason!!!
call me a skeptik or ignorant since this is not my area of my magikal practice
but how a jesus christ ”talisman” is an abrasax talisman?
i’m talking about the first photo with the crosses and A O [maybe better to use Ω?]

Τhe central monogram is from the vision of the emperor constantine before the battle
somewhere outside of rome in 312 c.e. .this symbol was used also in ancient coins signyfying various deities like the greek hronos[time] or horus .also it was used as a seal for the authentication of the coin….
in the talisman concept i will take the ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ [ christ] option of ΧΡ since the next word ΙΧΘΥΣ [meaning fish] is an acronym for the
    Ι ΗΣΟΥΣ [JESUS]
    Χ ΡΙΣΤΟΣ [CHRIST]
    Θ ΕΟΥ [GOD'S]
    Υ ΙΟΣ [SON]
    Σ ΩΤΗΡ [SAVIOR]

    thats all for now….

First, the Chi-Rho has a long use before constantines vision.

Second, Abrasax shows up in a lot of early Christian magical texts like the book of the breathings and so on. Christian dieties also show up in more or less otherwise pagan texts ranging from the PGM all the way north to the Icelandic Galdrabok’s.

Magic knows no boundaries and you will often find a crossover from Christian cosmology and pagan cosmology.

Basically, when it comes to early magic and mystical texts you should let go of the idea that there is Christianity and then everything else. Christianity of the time was just another mystery religion with lots of cross over.

That said, I would be happy to let Mike speak for himself….

Bwahahaha! I’ve been waiting for someone to ask! In anticipation of this question I had prepared an answer last evening explaining the relationship between the Coptic/ Gnostic Yeshua and Abrasax. Will post in on the blog shortly when I get back in front of the PC

    hello guys!!!!
thank you for the quick response!!!
let me be clear that this is not my field and i ask with no agenda.

since mike is going to answer about the the connection between jesus and
abrasax i want to ask also about the use of ΙΧΘΥΣ from the gnostics
and why did he use on the talismans the AO and not AΩ…
    thats all for now…
